Episode 330 | Michael La Ronn Interview

Today I am joined by Science Fiction and Fantasy author Michael La Ronn. We talk about Michael’s history as a writer, writing sci fi and fantasy, writing with a hopeful outlook, writing as a spiritual practice, his unique tricks to write “in the cracks of life”, the life altering experience that solidified his resolve to pursue writing, and much more.

Michael La Ronn is the author of over 40 science fiction & fantasy books. His books include the Modern Necromancy series, Galaxy Mavericks series and The Last Dragon Lord series, to name just a few. His stories feature unusual, nontraditional heroes such as teddy bears, vegetables, and androids (but not all in the same book). His writing is about heroes rising up against incredible odds to be the best possible versions of themselves.
Michael devoted himself to the writing life in 2012 after he was hospitalized with a dangerous sickness. Realizing that life was too short to die without pursuing his passions, he dedicated himself to being an industry-savvy author, marketer, and entrepreneur.
When he’s not writing novels, Michael serves on the staff of the Alliance of Independent Authors as a US Advisor and podcaster. He co-hosts the AskAlli Member Q&A Podcast where he answers burning questions about self-publishing.

Michael is a dynamic public speaker and is an expert on productivity, writing business & craft.
Michael was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and is a proud St. Louisan. He currently lives in Des Moines, Iowa with his wife and his daughter.
